The soothsayer and her husband, who were arrested at Damongo in the Savannah Region for allegedly assaulting a suspected wizard, are expected to reappear in court today, Thursday.

The two were arrested on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, for their involvement in the near-lynching of Issahaku Mohammed on suspicion of wizardry.

Some residents of the Zongo community in Damongo assaulted him over the accusations by the soothsayer that he’s a wizard. He was admitted at the West Gonja Hospital but later discharged after treatment.
