Soothsayer, husband who assaulted suspected wizard to reappear in Court today
The suspects were on their first appearance in court, granted bail to allow the investigators time to assess the health status of the victim before proffering charges
The soothsayer and her husband, who were arrested at Damongo in the Savannah Region for allegedly assaulting a suspected wizard, are expected to reappear in court today, Thursday.
The two were arrested on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, for their involvement in the near-lynching of Issahaku Mohammed on suspicion of wizardry.
Some residents of the Zongo community in Damongo assaulted him over the accusations by the soothsayer that he’s a wizard. He was admitted at the West Gonja Hospital but later discharged after treatment.
