A Court of Appeal has dismissed two different applications filed by two Members of Parliament from the NDC, on matters involving contests of their election results.

The MPs are Joe Gyaakye Quayson, the MP for Assin North as well as Dorcas Affo Toffey, the MP for Jomoro. They are both in court over accusations of possessing dual citizenship.

The Assin North MP filed an appeal for a stay of proceedings. Ms. Toffey also applied to stay the execution of the High Court’s order which had instructed her to provide evidence showing she had renounced her alleged Ivorian citizenship.

Both applications were dismissed, indicating that the case against the two would proceed at the High Court.
