In Labour in Ghana; new book by South African Professor of Law, Letlhokwa George Mpedi, and Dr. Theophilus Coleman is making additions to the current literature on Labour Law In Ghana, doing so with brevity in the treatment of topics under the subject.

“The topics covered are broad and relevant; the treatment is comprehensive; legislative provisions, judicial decisions and academic papers have been cited to support prepositions put forth; the language employed is simple; and the text is readble,” writes Professor Philip Ebow Bondzi-Simpson, Rector at GIMPA and Founding Dean, Faculty of Law, UCC.

The book generally covers the current statutory and regulatory framework of labour and employment relations in Ghana – doing so on topics such as individual labour law, collective labour law, conditions of employment, employment protection, unfair and fair termination of employment agreements as set forth in the Labour Act 2003,  (Act 651).

Although, it may seem like the authors avoided politically controversial areas around the topic of labour law in Ghana, they are quick to add that it highlights some contemporary issues that require attention from political actors or policy makers.
