Three suspects have been arrested in Ho, in the Volta Region, by a joint Police-Military patrol team, for unlawful possession of a firearm and other offensive weapons.

The three are Doe Kofi, Appiah Joseph, and Yaovi Gideon. They were arrested at a hideout in an area called the Barracks New Town, a suburb of Ho.

“Search on the suspects revealed a bag containing a foreign pistol (Revolver), club, four whips made of wooden handles and bicycle chain, knife, screwdriver, and one mask,” the police stated.

The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Volta Regional Police Command, Inspector Prince Dogbatse said they strongly believe that the weapons retrieved from the suspects were “adapted for the commission of crime.”

The suspects are in Police custody, assisting investigations, and are yet to be arraigned before a court.
