Three injured over chieftaincy clashes in Walembelle
The injuries occurred as a result of clashes amid gunshots, between two factions on Wednesday October 13, 2021.
According to the Sissala East District Police Commander DSP Kunpe Gbelle, the injured persons are currently on admission at the Wa Regional Hospital where they are presently responding to treatment.
“Currently, those who shot them have gone into hiding, but I can assure you that they will be arrested in no time because we have intensified patrol in the area,” he added.
Meanwhile, it has been observed that chieftaincy related conflicts have been on the ascendancy in the northern parts of Ghana.
As a result, the various regional security councils have had to place intermittent curfews on some communities in order to keep residents safe.
