The Takoradi Divisional Police Command says it has arrested three suspects for faking a kidnapping incident.

The three, aged between 27 and 29, allegedly demanded a ransom of GHC 5000.00 from one of the suspect’s family member.

“Reports indicate that the suspect Joana Krah conspired with the other two suspects, Susan Awortwe and Francis Eshun, to feign her kidnapping on Friday, October 22, 2021, after which a call was placed to her adopted father in demand for a ransom,” a statement from the Police said.

The three suspects will be processed for court today, Ocotober 25, 2021.

“We are further advising the public to desist from the act of faking kidnapping for monetary gains since it is a criminal act. Such perpetrators will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the State,” the statement added.
