Suspended NDC Central Region Executive granted bail over alleged incest
On Monday, October 11, the NDC suspended Dawood on grounds of misconduct and anti-party behaviour following rape allegations.
Emmanuel Kwesi Dawood, suspended Central Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been granted a GHC 30, 000 bail, with two sureties by a Cape Coast Circuit Court.
He is alleged to have committed incest and abortion with his biological daughter.
The accused pleaded not guilty, and has been asked to re-appear before the court on October 27, 2021.
The doctor at the center of the abortion allegations has also been arraigned before the court.
On Monday, October 11, the NDC suspended Dawood on grounds of misconduct and anti-party behaviour following rape allegations.
“Now, we want to put it on record that Dawood is suspended as the Regional communications officer until further notice. The party is not pleased with the alleged misconduct of Dawood because it vehemently frowns on such attitudes, especially in his former capacity as the regional communications officer, ” Kojo Quansah, Regional Secretary of the party told media in Assin-Fosu.
Dawood was reported by his former wife to the police for allegedly having sex with his daughter multiple times, leading to a pregnancy.
According to a report submitted by the victim’s mother, Mavis Ayitey to the Central Regional Police Command, the suspect had allegedly engaged in the act since the girl was 15.
