Police in Accra have arrested a suspected street robber in East Legon, a statement from the Service on Twitter has indicated.
The suspect, Michael Tyron is believed to have attacked and snatched the mobile phones of two persons whose names have been withheld. According to the police, this occurred at Thunder Lilly, East Legon on 29th June 2021 at around 9:00 pm.
Police found two phones, two kitchen knives, a wifi device, and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is currently in custody, pending processing for court.
Meanwhile, the police are urging the general public to quickly report crime incidents, to make it easier to apprehend criminals.
“It is hoped that the general public will follow this good example of reporting crimes to the police immediately they occur and cooperating for police to carry through actions,” the tweet indicates.
