The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng has indicated that the case against Mahama Ayariga is a waste of the state’s time thus likely to suffer like similar cases in the past.

He further indicated that he has studied the docket since he assumed office and it will be impossible for the state to prove its case per the standard of beyond reasonable doubt.

“Upon further scrutiny of the available evidence, the Republic would be unable to prove
its case on the standard of proof required in criminal case, viz. beyond reasonable doubt,” he indicated.

“It will be a complete waste of time if we were to open this case further and go to a length where it will only be dismissed,” he added.

The above statement was made by the Special Prosecutor on Monday, October 11, 2021, after the court proceeding.

The Special Prosecutor made his first appearance in court today since he was sworn into the position about two months ago.
