Shatta Wale, Medikal’s case adjourned to January 25

Shatta Wale was arrested on October 19, 2021, after he allegedly faked a gunshot attack on him, following a prophecy that indicated he would be killed by armed robbers on the said day.

A Circuit Court in Accra has adjourned the case involving the Ghanaian Dancehall artiste,  Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly called Shatta Wale, and a Ghanaian rapper, Samuel Frimpong known as Medikal, to January 25, 2022.

Lawyers for the artists prayed the court to grant their clients the opportunity to embark on some trips and perform during the Yuletide season.

Shatta Wale was arrested on October 19, 2021, after he allegedly faked a gunshot attack on him, following a prophecy that indicated he would be killed by armed robbers on the said day.

He was subsequently remanded to the Ankaful Prison and eventually granted a GHS100,000 self-recognizance bail.

The artiste has since been charged with the publication of false news and causing fear and panic. His accomplices, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator have also been charged with abetment of crime.

Also, the popular hiplife artiste, Samuel Frimpong, known in social circles as Medikal was arrested after he allegedly brandished a weapon in a video that was widely circulated on social media.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charge of displaying arms and ammunition.

The Court, therefore, granted their requests thus adjourned sittings to January 5, 2022.
