Sandema: Police secure warrant for arrest of five persons who escaped from custody

The Builsa North Municipal Police command in Sandema in the Upper East Region has secured a warrant from the Navrongo District Magistrate Court for the immediate arrest of five suspects who escaped from custody.

The Builsa North Municipal Police command in Sandema in the Upper East Region has secured a warrant from the Navrongo District Magistrate Court for the immediate arrest of five suspects who escaped from custody.

The suspects were remanded into police custody at the Sandema police station but escaped on April 10, 2021.

The Upper East Regional Police Command has thus called on the general public to assist police with information for the fugitives to be re-arrested.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer in the region, ASP David Okyere-Fianko, said the suspects are believed to be hiding within the Builsa North and Builsa South Districts.

He appealed to the public, especially residents of Sandema, Fumbisi and Chuchuliga and its environs, to report the suspects to the nearest police station for their arrest.

The accused persons are Mr. Cletus Aglojam – 27, a native of Kanjerga, dark, height 5.7; Mr. Moses Amoako – 20, a native of Suniasa-Sandema, dark and stands at 5feet 8inches and is a farmer by profession; and Mr. Albert Webelera – 25, a native of Pungu-Navrongo, stands at 5. 7 inches tall and is a carpenter by profession

The rest are Mr.Kaseley Nab – 40, a native of Gbedembisi- Fumbisi, dark in complexion and lanky; and Mr. Abianiakeme Adocta – aged 21, a native of Bilinsa, dark in complexion, and a tricycle rider.

The police added that the sixth person who escaped has been re-arrested and has been sentenced to 24 months in prison.
