However, on October 18, when the convict reappeared before the court, he changed his plea to guilty and was convicted.

Police Chief Inspector Charles Aziati, prosecuting, told the court that the complainant was the Director of Tego Enterprise located in Hohoe, while the convict was a manager for a branch of the company, where he sold plumbing materials and other goods.

The court heard that the convict had been put to manage the branch, since September 9, 2021.

Chief Insp Aziati said on January 6, last year, an audit exercise carried out into the convict’s work revealed that he understated sales monies to an amount of GH¢11,278.50

The prosecution said checks also indicated total material shortage of GH¢51,692.00, all amounting to GH¢62,970.50.

Chief Insp Aziati said the complainant reported the case to the police and the convict was arrested.

The court heard that during investigations, the convict volunteered a statement on caution to the police, stating that “he used the money to enjoy life with women.”
