Resident of Kade, 200 others sue NPP Polling Station Election Chairman, another

According to the statement of claim of the plaintiffs, members of the ruling New Patriotic Party and signed by Counsel, Francis E. Polley of the Aboagyewaa Chambers in Koforidua;

A resident of Kade, Jones Fobi, and 200 others have sued the NPP Chairman of the Constituency Polling Station Election and the Constituency Chairman of the Kade Constituency at the High Court in Koforidua.

According to the statement of claim of the plaintiffs, members of the ruling New Patriotic Party and signed by Counsel, Francis E. Polley of the Aboagyewaa Chambers in Koforidua;

  1. Nominations for the the Polling station elections of the Party was opened Saturday, February 19, 2022 to Monday, February 21, 2022.

2. However since the opening of the nominations for the elections, all efforts to buy copies of the nomination forms have proven futile.

3. That the Chairman for the election and the Constituency chairman are secretly and or clandestinely selling the nominations forms to their favorites, depriving them of attempts to contest for their respective prospective positions in their various polling stations.

4. The first plaintiff says he wishes to buy the nomination forms to contest for the Polling station organizer for the Assuom-Amanfrom R/C Primary school Polling station.

They are therefore seeking inter alia an order directed at the defendants to cancel the whole electioneering process since it has been smeared with irregularities.

Also, they seek an order directed at the Chairman of the Polling Station election and the Constituency Chairman to make available nomination forms for the Polling Station to them to be able to contest in the upcoming elections.

Moreover, a declaration that no prospective aspirant shall be denied access to the purchase of the nomination form by the committee.
