A Ghanaian musician, Rebecca Acheampong popularly called Becca, has advised colleague musicians to desist from quickly glossing over contract deals.

According to her, they should rather do an extensive reading and due diligence before giving their acceptance to the contracts.

“I would have advised anybody to actually read contracts properly and then see anything in there in terms of duration and all those things,” she said.

In an interview with Okyeame Quophi, the renowned Ghanaian songstress noted that going through the nitty-gritty of contracts will ensure that the artist has control and a say in how he or she will be managed.

Notwithstanding, Becca expressed her regret at not doing the same before signing her previous contract.

This according to her was caused by her much focus on the music rather than the contract at the time she was given the document.

She was however full of praise for her former management, EKB Records by Kiki Banson with whom she worked for over 10 years.

“ I think they did a good job, however, as I say, there is more room for improvement. I think I saw my money, but I believe that I could have seen more.” She indicated
