President Akufo-Addo set to launch 2021 anti-corruption week today
The ACT Week and NACAP Conference is organized by the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice as well as its partners, under the auspices of the Office of the President.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to launch the 2021 Anti-Corruption and Transparency (ACT) Week, as well as open the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) High-Level Conference today, Monday, December 6th 2021.
The ACT Week and NACAP Conference is organized by the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice as well as its partners, under the auspices of the Office of the President.
The Deputy Commissioner of CHRAJ., Mr. Richard Quayson indicated that the ACT week recognizes the fact that corruption is a continuing problem for global economies and affects their sustainable development.
He added that the prevailing issues of poverty, deprivation and underdevelopment that plagues the country can be attributed to underlying acts of corruption, which blights the hopes of several Ghanaians in need of quality service delivery and access to life’s necessities.
Meanwhile, the President will also launch the National Cultural Review Program and the Schools Integrity Project. He is also expected to symbolically pass over the Integrity Torch that will kick-start the program for Building a Culture of Integrity for Generations.
It is expected that the 2021 Anti-Corruption and Transparency Week and the High-Level National Conference will present critical contributions to the national effort aimed at dealing with some foundational issues of corruption, including integrity.
Ghana adopted the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) in 2014 as the coordinated anti-corruption policy of Ghana.
