Police officer arrested for sexual assault remanded
“The court presided over by His Worship Eric Denning has remanded the suspect into Police custody to reappear on Wednesday, December 1, 2021,
The Sunyani District Court B has remanded Lance Corporal Victor Antwi Yeboah into police custody for sexually assualting a woman in a car in a viral video.
This is according to a press release from the police service.
He is facing charges of assault, contrary to section 84 of the Criminal Offences Act and indecent assault contrary to section 103 of the same Act.
He however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The police also added that they have begun internal disciplinary processes into the matter.
“The court presided over by His Worship Eric Denning has remanded the suspect into Police custody to reappear on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, after he pleaded not guilty to the two charges,” parts of the statement read.
On November 27, 2021, the police arrested the accused for allegedly harrasing a woman in a viral video.
“On reviewing the video, the Police Administration immediately launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary investigation indicates that the male person involved in that shameful and despicable act is a Police officer stationed at the Regional Operations Unit, Bono Regional Police Command,” the police stated.
