Police arrest Dansoman motorbike robbers

The Ghana Police Service in Greater Accra Region has arrested two persons who attacked and snatched a motorbike from its rider at the Tungah Children’s Park in Dansoman, Accra.

The robbers who wielded machetes attacked the rider of the motorbike with registration number M-21-GW-490 on 13th June 2021.

According to the Police, the suspects who have been identified as Mawuli Amegbo and Sulley Mohammed ran out of luck on 15th June 2021 when the victim saw them riding the bike and raised an alarm. This was responded to by a nearby Police patrol team who quickly apprehended the suspects.

The Police report that the machete has been retrieved from the suspects after a search was conducted on them. The motorbike has also since been seized by the Police to aid in their investigations.

Two accomplices remain at large but are currently being pursued by the police. The suspects in custody are being processed for court.

Meanwhile, the Police have appealed to the general public to report incidents and instances of crime and cooperate with the police during investigations.

 A tweet by the Police Service reads “The Police calls on the public to report incidents of crime and cooperate for investigations to carry through. This particular incident was not reported until [the] victim sighted the suspects and his motorbike two days after the robbery incident.”
