Police arrest 12 over Chereponi violence following MMDCE nominees list
Investigations are ongoing in the matter as the Police have promised to “deal decisively with those involved”.
Police at the Chereponi District of the North East Region have arrested some 12 persons for their alleged roles in destroying some private properties and assaulting some persons at Chereponi.
According to a statement released by the police, the violence is believed to have been caused by the announcement of the President’s nominee, Zuweira Mada Nasheru as the District Chief Executive for Chereponi.
The police operation was led by the Regional Commander, DCOP/Mr. Moses Ali Kperchin.
