Oti Region: Former headteacher arrested for receiving GHC 72k unearned salary

A former headteacher of Ahamansu L. A. Erishad Primary School in the Oti Region, Mr. Krampah Patrick Wisdom has been arrested and placed in custody after he was implicated in the 2022 Auditor-Generals Report to have received GHc 72,759.32 unearned salary.

Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC), Hon. James Klutse-Avedzi last Thursday ordered the Kadjebi District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to engage the police to arrest Krampah for the financial impropriety against the state.

Krampah was found to have received unearned salaries between February 2018 and June 2020, around the same time he left his post as a headteacher to work at the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) as a Project Assistant.

Hon Avoka stated that the action Mr. Krampah contravenes Regulation 92 of the Public Financial Management Regulations, 2019 (L.I. 2378) and that he must be picked up by the Police.
