OSP files fresh charges against the former PPA boss, Adjenim Boateng Adjei

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), has filed eight fresh charges against the former Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority, Adjenim Boateng Adjei.

The charges were filed on Wednesday, April 17, the OSP said in a statement. 

“He faces eight (8)charges related to the misuse of public office for personal gain and manipulation of the procurement process to gain an unfair advantage in securing procurement contracts,” the statement said.

Additionally, one charge of misusing public office for personal profit against his co-accused who happens to be his brother-in-law, Francis Kwaku, was dropped. 

The case was referred to the OSP by President Akufo-Addo after an investigation by journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni revealed he had engaged in a conflict of interest in the award of contracts when he headed the PPA.
