The spokesperson of the upcoming political grouping, The New Force, Shalimar Abbuissi, is set to be repatriated after being re-arrested by officials of the Ghana Immigration Service.

This follows the revocation of her residence permit by the Immigration service insisting that her continuous stay in the country is illegal.

Earlier today, state prosecutors dropped all charges against her as the court also directed the National Investigations Bureau to release her seized phone.

However, right after this, Ms Abuissi was re-arrested outside the court premises by Immigration Officials leading to chaos and disagreement between her legal team and the officers who eventually succeeded in whisking her away in a van.

The Belgian National, who was arrested by the National Investigations Bureau after her campaign video for the group went viral, was charged with obtaining a student permit by false declaration, contrary to Section 52(1)(i) of the Immigration Act 2000 (Act 573).

Subsequently, she was granted a bail of GHC 20,000 by the Kaneshie District Court on December 11, 2023.

Her parents were meanwhile spotted outside the court shedding tears while she was being whisked away after the re-arrest today.
