NDC suspends Central Region Communications Director following rape allegations

The Central Regional Director of Communications for the National Democratic Congress, Kwesi Dawood has been suspended by the party following allegations that he repeatedly raped his teen daughter.
In a press interview with Accra-based Citi News, the Central Regional Secretary of the party indicated that the actions of the accused were in complete breach of the party’s conducts. Mr. Dawood is currently on the run as Police continue their hunt for him.

“Based on what he has done, SEC met and after detailed discussion, [decided] it is part of anti-party conduct and there is the need for us to suspend him,” Mr Kojo Quansah, the Central Regional Secretary of the NDC told Citi News.
He revealed further tthat Mr. Dawood’s teen daughter got pregnant as a result. He is alleged to have caused her to abort the baby with the assistance of a quack doctor.
The daughter of the suspended Communications Director reported her ordeal to her housemaster in school. Subsequently, her mother petitioned the Central Regional Police Command.
