Ministry of National Security, GBA to implement document on security strategy

The Ministry of National Security is partnering with the Ghana Bar Association to implement a document on National Security strategy.

This security document is expected to protect the country against external security threats and seek the involvement of society in mitigating security threats.

The President of the Ghana Bar Association, Yaw Boafo Acheampong welcomed the initiative and lauded the Ministry for the collaboration and was hopeful that the security document together with necessary security provisions from the government, will strengthen the Nation’s Security.

Furthermore, he pledged his Association’s commitment to seeing to the full implementation of the document and making sure that it does not suffer the fate of other documents.

“It is commendable that we have not waited for any of the acts that pose a threat to national security to have happened before acting. We hope that the government will make available the necessary resources to equip our intelligence and security agencies to be able to bring to fruition the policies in the strategy document” he said.

On his part, the National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah indicated the Ministry’s readiness to provide the needed support for the full implementation of the document.

“Let me put on record that the Ministry of National Security stands ready to partner with the Bar in addressing security challenges across different domains that have the potential to disturb the country’s peace and stability,” he noted.
