The Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame has reiterated the need to address the gaps and rights of Ghanaians to boost up the nation.

According to him, much progress has been made coupled with the constitutional guarantees of equal rights of persons however there is still much to be desired.

“Despite the constitutional guarantees of equal rights and the progress made, much work remains to be done to address the gaps and rights of all Ghanaians to boost up the nation,”

Mr. Dame made this known on Tuesday at a public forum on Human rights organized by the Media Foundation for West Africa.

The forum, which was on the theme; “The State of Human Rights In Ghana: Progress, Challenges and Way Forward”  was organized in partnership with the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice(CHRAJ) and the United Nation.

On his part, Commissioner for CHRAJ, Mr. Joesph Whittal stressed the need for the nation to further advance minority rights including those of women, children, and the elderly.

Mr. Sulemana Braimah, Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa(MFWA) said that the nation ought to take stock of the human right situation with particular emphasis on the progress and challenges to know its stand and way forward.
