Kwadaso Polling Station Elections: Disgruntled NPP members run to court for injunction
“I went to court because the just-ended elections were not conducted in accordance with our Party Constitution and upon petitioning the Regional and National Executives, nothing came out of it."
Some disgruntled members of the ruling New Patriotic Party at the Kwadaso Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Abu Mahama, and Kofi Abrefa have filed a suit in court seeking an interlocutory injunction against the conduct of Polling Station Elections in the area.
The suit which was filed on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, is seeking to challenge the manner in which the Polling Station Elections for the Constituency were conducted per the recommendations of the Gifty Ohene Konadu led Committee.
In an interview with Asaase Radio, one of the plaintiffs, Abu Mahama indicated that the just-ended Polling Station elections were not conducted in accordance with the NPP’s Constitution hence his decision to go to court.
“I went to court because the ended elections were not conducted in accordance with our Party Constitution and upon petitioning the Regional and National Executives, nothing came out of it to salvage the situation so the last option that was left for me was to go to court for it to address the issue.”
