Koforidua: 23-year-old girl murdered by jilted lover

A young man believed to be a jilted lover has murdered the 23-year-old ex-girlfriend, Felicia Abena Oparebea at Trom, a suburb of Koforidua.
The gruesome murder, which occurred on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Junction 5 at the Trom Community, took place in the room of the deceased.
According to reports, the deceased, who was previously living with the suspect at Betom, one of the indigenous areas in Koforidua, moved to rent her room at Trom after she broke up with him.
This occurrence, however, this not enthuse the suspect, which led him into tracing the lady, finding her new location thus leading to the murder.
The report further indicates that on the said day of the gruesome murder, the suspect came to the neighborhood as there was a naming ceremony taking place at the deceased’s house.
After seeing each other and having some conversation, the two entered the deceased’s room and the murder happened afterward.
After murdering her, he dropped the blood-stained knife on the ground, and escaped to Suhum, a suburb of Koforidua.
The suspect, however, is said to have reported himself to the police in Suhum, who came with him to the location of the incident and saw the deceased lying in a pool of blood.
Currently, the suspect is being held by the Eastern Regional Police Command at Galloway in Koforidua.
