The three latest nominees of the Supreme Court were on Wednesday, January 3 sworn-in by the president, Nana Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.

The Justices; Henry Anthony Kwofie, Yaw Darko Asare, and Richard Adjei-Frimpong, were appointed owing to the mandatory retirements of Justices Amegatcher, former CJ Anin Yeboah, and Jones Dotse last year.

Having met the stringent requirement under Article 128(4) of the 1992 Constitution, the three, formerly of the Court of Appeal were thus nominated and cleared by Parliament’s Appointment Committee.

This appointment brings the current number of Supreme Court Justices to fourteen(14), thus still within the conventional practice of pegging the number of Apex Court Justices to 15 contrary to the wrongful public assertions.
