The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) embarked on a health walk last weekend as part of events to mark its 50th anniversary.

In an address, the National President, Samuel Afotey Otu, emphasized the importance of upholding professional ethics among members and preserving the independence of the judiciary.

He also stressed the need, for JUSAG members to remain impartial and dedicated to their duties, steering clear of political influence, especially in this election year.

The health walk, held in Aburi, Eastern Region, drew a significant turnout, with participants including registrars, recorders, clerks, administrators, and members of the bench, some traveling from distant regions like Volta and North.

The walk commenced in Ayi-Mensah and concluded at Peduase Lodge, where various activities, including aerobic sessions, were organized.

Mr. Otu further highlighted the need for JUSAG members to incorporate regular exercise into their routines, recognizing the sedentary nature of judicial work.

On his part, the Greater Accra Regional Chairperson, Ramsey Ahorklui, outlined additional events planned for the Golden Jubilee celebration, such as games, floats, health screenings, sports activities, and symposiums.

The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG), which was established in Cape Coast in 1973, officially launched its 50th-anniversary celebrations on February 17, 2024.

In attendance at the launch was Chief Justice Torkornoo, who unveiled the anniversary logo and cloth, marking a significant milestone for the association.
