Judicial Service withdraws circular requiring parties, lawyers to produce Ghana Card for court judgments

The Office of the Judicial Secretary has withdrawn with immediate effect, a January 31 directive that asked lawyers and parties to produce their Ghana cards in order to obtain court orders and judgments.

In a circular on Wednesday, February 28, to all court Registrars, Judicial Secretary, Justice Pamela Koranteng noted that the said directives were never authorised by her office, adding further that measures would be put in place to check the use of court orders by fraudsters.

"Kindly note this Circular was not authorized by the Judicial Secretary, consequently, it is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect. 

Please expect to receive directives in respect of measures to be taken to curb improper use of court orders by fraudsters."
