Joy FM, Multimedia Group, its CEO to sue Kennedy Agyapong, 6 others over defamatory statements

According to a statement signed and released on September 1, 2021, the reputable media organization indicates that the MP made and repeated false and defamatory statements against the plaintiffs on his media platform on July 2, 9, and 19 this year.

Joy FM, the Multimedia Group, and its Chief Executive Officer, Kwasi Twum have taken a firm decision to afford the MP for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong, his media organization, three(3) of his employees, the opportunity to prove in court, allegations made against the plaintiffs.

According to a statement signed and released on September 1, 2021, the reputable media organization indicates that the MP made and repeated false and defamatory statements against the plaintiffs on his media platform on July 2, 9, and 19 this year.

The above according to the statement, spurned a caution statement by the lawyers of the plaintiffs on July 13, 2021.

The release further notes that two(2) other online publications have been joined as 6th and 7th defendants for circulating the outright falsehoods by the MP without care or any attempt to verify the allegations against the three(3) plaintiffs by re-publishing on 11th and 16th July 2021.

The said publication falsely sought to portray the plaintiffs as unethical, unprofessional, and criminal. Thus the broadcasts, publications, and associated defamatory commentary have been carefully and meticulously gathered, transcribed, and translated.

In conclusion, the statement indicates that their lawyers have been firmly instructed and will file the suit today to clear their names.
