The Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo has dismissed accusations indicating that her identity was assumed by another person in Parliament on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

The MP, who doubles as the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection indicated on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 that she was physically present in the House on the said day, contrary to the claims that have been made otherwise.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa had suggested on Accra-based Joy News that the Minority caucus in Parliament was investigating a case of impersonation of Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo.

Mr. Ablakwa had intimated that the Minority feared that the woman who had posed as the Dome Kwabenya MP was not the legislator herself.

Hon. Adwoa Safo however dispelled that accusation, noting that she could not compel any other legislator to dress in a way she would want.

“And Mr Speaker, I also want to state on record, that I was present in this House yesterday. Mr. Speaker, and to state categorically, that I cannot force Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa who is my friend on the other side, to dress the way that I want him to dress, and that is an insult on womanhood and so those making that noise should withdraw.”
