The African Bar Association (AFBA) has appointed Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency, Francis Xavier Sosu as an Executive Member of the association.

Also a lawyer, Mr. Sosu has been specifically appointed to the position of Vice-Chairman of the Trade, Investment, and Business Immigration Committee of the association.

According to a letter dated February 22, 2022, addressed to Mr. Sosu, the AFBA said it recognized Mr. Sosu’s “role as a human rights and public interest lawyer in Ghana for over 10 years.”

“AFBA has taken into consideration the fact that you have a rich background in Sociology, Economics, Law, Security, and Intelligence, which background we believe can support and advance the work of the said committee as AFBA seeks to lead the way for Economic Cooperation and Integration of Africa using AfCFTA’s to reach Africa’s Development Agenda 2063,” the letter signed by President of the association, Mr. Hannibal Egbe Uwiafo indicated.

Mr. Sosu’s appointment follows his nomination by the Qualification Committee of the association and subsequent approval by the Executive Committee of the association.
