GSL introduces short course in Criminal Prosecution and Litigation
The six(6) months course, according to the Course Director, is not limited to investigators and prosecutors
The Ghana School of Law has introduced a six-months short course in Criminal Prosecution and Litigation.
The course will target investigators and prosecutors, and allied security agencies with a mandate to prosecute. Thus boosting their confidence in their prosecutorial duties.
Course participants will learn specific courses such as; criminal procedure, basic interpretation, preparing a case docket and investigating skills.
According to the course director, Dr.Georgina Ahorbor, the course will enhance the courtroom advocacy skills of prosecutors.
Furthermore,it is to develop the legal knowledge of the Country’s prosecutors in criminal procedure, rules of evidence and more.
The first four(4) months of the course will be used for intensive learning while the fifth month will be dedicated to attachments at the courts and the 6th month for practicals and examination.
Dr.Ahorbor also indicated that 65 persons have so far registered for the course, which will be manned by experienced legal brains.
The six(6) months course, according to the Course Director, is not limited to investigators and prosecutors. Personnel from the National Investigation Bureau(NIB), Narcotics Control commission, National Security, SSNIT, Environmental Protection Agency, Ghana Standards Authority, Ghana Revenue Authority(GRA), and Food and Drugs Authority(FDA) can also benefit greatly from the course.
