Crusaders Against Corruption Ghana (CACG), an anti-corruption organisation, have petitioned the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to investigate claims made by Assin-Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, on an Asaase Radio programme.

The group wants the OSP to particularly investigate claims that the Chief of Staff, Ms. Frema Opare, gave the Assin-Central MP an amount of GHC 120,000 to be paid into the account of Adwoa Sarfo, Dome Kwabenya MP.

In addition, they want the OSP to investigate other claims that a private jet was hired for the Dome Kwabenya MP to come to Ghana to make a decision on the E-levy.

They also requested that the OSP investigates other flight arrangements from the US to Ghana for three other MP’s, – Kennedy Agyapong, Henry Quartey and Amoako Atta.

According to the group, the OSP’s investigations should uncover the source of the funds, determine whether there is misappropriation of public funds and whether the claims made by the MP are fasle.

“Respectfully, CACG awaits an independent investigation from your office into the above issues after which the appropriate action will be pursued by CAGC,” it said in its February 23, 2022 letter to the OSP.
