SCOPE OF THE PROGRAMS

1. General Master of Laws Degree(LLM)

This program is designed to allow students to curate and customize their studies due to the wide range of course offerings and per their intellectual and professional interests. The program aims to promote multidisciplinary legal studies in Ghana and beyond.

2.Master of Laws Degree(LLM) in International Trade and Business Law

This program is curated for persons who seek to further their academic or professional journey in International Trade, Investment, and Business across Africa, with a special blend of civil and common law perspectives.

Again, it will help students take advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat hosted in Ghana and our country’s strategic location in respect of global trade.

3. Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) in Dispute Resolution Law and Practice

It is aimed at preparing candidates for a career in cross-border dispute resolution – due to the increased demand for professionals well-versed in addressing commercial, investment, and other disputes swiftly.

4. Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) program in International Criminal Law and Justice

This program is introduced to enable GIMPA to take advantage of its long-standing partnership with the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, The Netherlands, and the hosting of the African Centre of International Criminal Justice (ACICJ) at GIMPA Law.

This is for students who seek to pursue a career in International and Transnational Criminal Justice.

As security and transnational legal cooperation concerns continue to challenge Africa, more than ever, we need more locally trained professionals, including legal professionals, who understand the cultural, political, and socio-economic dynamics of International Criminal Law and Justice, to contribute to addressing the challenges we face.
