Four Majority MPs file motion to investigate death of former President Mills

Four Members of Parliament in the Majority Caucus have filed a private members motion, requesting for bi-partisan investigations into the death of late President John Evans Atta-Mills.

“That, this Honourable House constitutes a bi-partisan committee to unravel the unending mystery surrounding the death of late President Mills which sad event occurred on 24th July, 2012,” the motion read.

The MPs asking for the probe are Majority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh Dompreh, Tolon MP, Habib Iddrisu, Mpraeso MP, Davis Opoku Ansah, and Tema Central MP, Yves Hanson Nortey.

The late President Mills died shortly after returning from the US for medical checks.

Although details into the cause of his death were not released, the late President is reported to have suffered throat cancer.

His office announced that Atta-Mills died hours after being taken ill.
