The Cape Coast Circuit Court 1 has sentenced a 31-year-old self-styled footballer to 10 years imprisonment for defilement at Assin Aworosso.

The convict, Kofi Ewusi was sentenced with hard labor, on his own guilty plea to defilement.

Presenting the facts before the court, the Assin Fosu District prosecutor, Chief Inspector Gilbert Ayongo noted that at about 8pm on 23rd September, 2021, Mr Ewusi spotted the victim on the grounds of a funeral.

He managed to lure her into his room where he had sexual intercourse with her and subsequently threw her out of his house. This was in spite of several pleas by the victim to spend the night since it was already 2am.

When she realized she may not be able to retrace her way back home at Twifu Dwendaama, the victim broke out in tears and was heard by a passerby who assisted her home and filed a complaint at the Assin Aworosso Police station.

The convict was subsequently arrested and arraigned before court.
