Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a final year student at the Tweneboa Kodua Senior High School in the Ashanti Region who is reported to have jumped to his death in an attempt to evade school authorities.

The 19-year-old, Edward Duut is believed to have been asleep during prep hours. When one of the Prep Masters, Gideon Osei, also known as ‘Ogidi’  took to conduct the routine checks around 8:40 pm, the students started running helter-skelter.

The deceased who had just woken from sleep also attempted to evade the teacher by jumping the wall. He however landed with his chest on the ground around 11pm, thus sustaining various injuries.

He was rushed to the Kumawu Polyclinic by the Headmaster with the help of some students where he was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, various reports indicate that no arrests have been made after the police took statements from teachers in the school.
