The family of late social activist Mohammed Ibrahim, popularly known as Kaaka, have refuted the claims of the Ejura Committee Report that his death was connected to a family feud, describing it as false, careless and disgraceful.

The family made this response to the Ejura Committee findings at a press briefing in Accra.

“At nowhere in the entire report did the Committee demonstrate or was there any evidence to show that the family of Kaaka was embroiled in any turmoil or feud,” Spokesperson of the family, Nafiu Mohammed.

“Their statements was made without regard for the pain of the family and could only have been made by persons who were so eager to please the appointing authority, that they left their humanity and their conscience aside,” he added.

While the Committee had said in its report that, it did not think per the testimonies it received from Sadia Fuseini and Aminu Mohammed, that Kaaka was killed as a result of activism, but rather, his death may be linked to a family feud.

The family however insisted that the said individual, Aminu Mohammed had not been in touch with the deceased the past 10 years, lived in Burkina Faso and was not in Ejura at the time of the death of Kaaka.

The family also called unacceptable comments made by Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso that the Committee was only answerable to the appointing authority and not tasked to probe Kaaka’s killing.

At the same press conference, the family also appealed for financial support to sue some members of the Committee and some witnesses that appeared at the hearings.
