An Education think-thank, Africa Education Watch(EDuWatch) has petitioned the Criminal Investigation Department(CID) to investigate the source of leakages of 5 WASSCE and NABTEX Examination papers.

According to the think-thank, it wants the CID to investigate to unravel the source of the overnight and dawn leakage of the above papers.

“Earlier today, we petitioned the Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department to investigate the source of the overnight and dawn leakage of 5 papers including today’s re-scheduled Physics paper 2, Food and Nutrition 3, English Language 2, Elective Mathematics 2 and NABTEX English 2,” he said.

This was disclosed by the Executive Director of EduWatch, Kofi Asare in a Facebook post yesterday.

The Africa Education Watch has been very critical of the West African Examination Council(WAEC) in recent times.

In August this year, Executive Director of Africa Watch Kofi Asare stated on his Facebook wall that the Food and Nutrition paper 3 was leaked on social media before the students got hold of them. But, he noted, he reported what he had noticed to WAEC.

Following the above revelation, the Head of the national office at WAEC, Wendy Addy-Lamptey, at a press briefing, cautioned the African Education Watch and other stakeholders to stop peddling  ‘reckless information’ about examination papers.

An Education think-thank, Africa Education Watch(EDuWatch) has petitioned the Criminal Investigation Department(CID) to investigate the source of leakages of 5 WASSCE and NABTEX Examination papers.

According to the Council, the postponement was in a bid to safeguard the integrity of the Examination because it had gotten reports of a purported leakage of the two papers.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kofi Asare has noted that his outfit will not disclose the details of its petition in order not to interfere with the process by the CID.

“We are unable to share the content of our Petition since it could interfere with investigations. We will keep working with state agencies to improve accountability and credibility in Ghana’s pre-tertiary assessments sector,” he indicated.
