Drama in court as Oliver Barker spends 2 more weeks on remand

Convener for #FixTheCountry Movement, Oliver Barker Vormawor has been remanded into Police custody for 2 more weeks by the Ashaiman District Court.

During Court proceedings on Monday, February 28, 2022, Mr. Oliver is alleged to have made some comments about the court which got the presiding judge walking the accused out of the courtroom.

Also, the counsel of the accused, Justice Srem Sai questioned the jurisdiction of the court to preside over the matter which bothers on his client’s personal liberty thus prayed the court for a ruling on the conduct of the prosecution relative to the constitutional provision bothering on his client’s personal liberty.

Oliver was arrested on February 11, 2022, at the Kotoka International Airport upon his return to Ghana from the United Kingdom.

According to a February 12 post by the Ghana Police Service, Oliver was arrested by the “Tema Regional Command following a post he allegedly made on the social media platform to the effect that he would stage a coup himself if the E.Levy Bill is passed by Parliament.”

Mr Oliver Barker has been on remand since February 11, 2022.

Per the additional 2 weeks remand, Mr. Vormawor is expected back in court on March 15, 2022.
