The UPSA Law School has elevated Dr. Francisca Kusi-Appiah to Vice Dean of the Law School and as Senior lecturer.

Profile of Dr. Francisca Kusi-Appiah

Dr. Francisca Kusi-Appiah holds a PhD from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee, Scotland, UK in addition to a Master’s Degree with specialization in Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Law from the University of Houston, Texas.

Before joining academia, she had extensive experience working with law firms in Ghana and the United States as a qualified lawyer and maintains an interest in using the law to advance sustainability and social causes. 

She maintains an active practice through legal consultancy. Among the range of courses taught over the years, Dr. Kusi-Appiah teaches Energy Law and the Law of Torts. 

Dr. Kusi-Appiah has also written widely on different areas of law such as Escaping The 'Resource Curse': A Decade Of Petroleum Exploration In Ghana and Implication of Competition Law Enforcement in the Electricity Sector: Comparative Analysis of the UK and the US.
