Devtraco missing air conditioners: Three granted GH¢50,000 bail

Prosecutors said the trio stole the items at the construction site of Devtraco Company Limited, with the intent to resell, admitting so in their caution statements.

The Kaneshie District Court Two has granted GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties each to three persons, accused of stealing air conditioners and earth rods, valued at GH¢33,000, belonging to Devtraco Company Limited, in Accra.

The court presided over by Ms Ama Ado­mako-Kwakye ordered George Kofi Kwao, Oppong Mensah, and Sampson Sarkodie, accused, to report to the police every two weeks on Mondays until the final determina­tion of the case.

Kwao and Mensah denied conspiring to steal the electronic appliances while Sarko­die also denied the charge of attempting to dishonestly receive stolen items.

Police Chief Inspector Apewah Achana, prosecuting, said Kwao, 24, was a cleaner, Mensah, 29, a private security guard, and Sarkodie, 38, a shop keeper.

Prosecutors said the trio stole the items at the construction site of  Devtraco Company Limited, with the intent to resell, admitting so in their caution statements. 

They will make their next appearance on November 7, 2023.
