Developers who carry out concrete works on Ghana roads to face prosecution
The Ministry of Roads and Highways had earlier warned all developers in the country to be cautious of where they acquire lands to build structures.
The Minister of Roads and Highways has served notice to developers who carry out concrete works on the country’s roads to desist from the act or face arrest and prosecution.
Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Atta had earlier directed a group of workers at North Legon in Accra to desist from their activities that are destroying the road nearby. He, therefore, served notice of returning the following week to see if they had observed and followed his directive. This was when he visited the North Legon area last week.
Therefore true to his words, he visited the area on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
In an interview with the media after the visit, the Minister cautioned all developers nationwide to desist from such an act or face prosecution for causing destruction to public property.
Mr.Amoako-Atta was however very happy with the fact that the North Legon four-story building developer, had complied with his earlier directive.
“I am happy with what I am seeing, but I want to use this opportunity to sound a strong warning to all developers anywhere in this country that nobody should attempt to carry out concrete works on the road.”
“Wherever it happens, the person will immediately be arrested and prosecuted for causing destruction to public property.”
