This was on managing boardroom dynamics under the Companies Act of Ghana.
The event which was held at the Tomreik Hotel, Accra, among other things, touched on the Rights and Duties of Directors, Sanctions and Reliefs for Breach of Duty set out for directors in the Companies Act, 2019, Act 992.
The Deputy Minister-Designate for the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Department, Madam Diana Asonaba Dapaah, one of the resource persons for the event touched on a director’s duty to the company and the role of the board.
Friday’s event adds to the list of training sessions which have been undertaken by Corporate Secretarial and Training Service Limited (CSTS) in the recent past.
CSTS previously trained the public on Corporate Governance for SMEs, Termination of Employment, Tax Administration, Understanding the Novelties of the New Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), Law of Defamation, Legal Environment of Business for Start-ups, Media Ethics, and understanding the role of the company secretary under the new companies act in covid-19 environment.
Beyond this, the company intends, in the immediate future, to organise training session on negotiations at the workplace, shareholding, a guide to reviewing board documents and many others.
