Court to deliver judgment on Akuapem Poloo’s appeal case on December 1

The Criminal Court 1 Division of the High Court will deliver judgment in the appeal case of social media influencer, Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo on December 1, 2021.

Akuapem Poloo had been accused of violating the dignity and integrity of her severn-year-old son when she published a photo in which she knelt, stark naked in front of her son ahead of his birthday.

The publication had incensed sections of the public, with various child rights’ groups calling for the actress to be punished accordingly.

The court at the time handed her a 90-day jail term. This sentence was however described as harsh by her lawyer, who went ahead to appeal against it despite oppositions to the move by Akuapem Poloo.

Nonetheless, the said lawyer was unable to complete the processes that will ensure her release on time. She had been granted bail of GHS80,000 with two sureties by the Criminal Division of the High Court and was also required to submit her passport with the court registrar and report to the case investigator every two weeks.

Akuapem Poloo had however spent a few days in prison before she was released.
