Court sentences self-acclaimed footballer to 10 years for defilement
The Assin Fosu District prosecutor, Chief Inspector Gilbert Ayongo, told the court that on September 23, 2021, the accused spotted the victim at a funeral ground around 8pm and lured her into his room at Assin Aworoso and had sexual intercourse with her.
The Cape Coast Circuit Court 1, has sentenced a 31-year-old self-acclaimed footballer, Kofi Ewusi to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour for defilement.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charge.

The suspect is said to have thrown the victim out of his home at about 2am.
The victim is said to have been helped by a ‘good samaritan’ who assisted her home and filed a complaint.
