A High Court in Sunyani has granted an interlocutory injunction restraining the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Council, Osagyefo Nana Agyeman Badu from attending the impending funeral of the late Paramount Chief of Berekum, Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II.

This follows an action filed by Osabarimah Kyere Yeboah Darteh II of the Berekum Traditional Council relative to the fear of a potential disruption in the area over the planned attendance of both the Asantehene and the Dormaahene.

The final funeral right of the late Berekumhene is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 22 per the advertised program thus paving the way for the attendance of the Asantehene on November 23 owing to his jurisdiction as the one having the right to enstool a new chief.

The order further directs the Ghana Police Service to assist the applicant in enforcing the same to ensure peace and order in the Berekum vicinity.
