Court adjourns trial of suspected Kaaka killers to August 12

The three suspects arrested in connection with the murder of social activist, Ibrahim Muhammed alias Kaaka will reappear before the Asokwa District Court on August 12, 2021.

The suspects are Issaka Ibrahim, Fuseini Alhassan, and a brother of the deceased, Iddi Mohammed. They have been charged with conspiracy to commit crime and murder.

The prosecutor, Chief Supt. Kofi Blagodzi told the court at the first hearing that the three accused persons conspired to kill the deceased and subsequently asked that the court remand them into prison custody while investigations continued.

The court presided over by Her Worship Akua Adu Boahen agreed to this request and remanded the three into custody. The first hearing was on 2nd July 2021.

At the second hearing, held on Thursday 22nd July 2021, the prosecutor requested once more that the accused persons be further remanded in police custody while investigations continued, a plea which has also been approved by the court.

Meanwhile, the accused brother of the deceased was represented in court by a lawyer. However, the pleas of the suspects were not taken.

The court will reconvene on August 12, 2021.
