COP George Dampare appointed as new IGP
The new IGP will assume office on 1st August, 2021.
COP Dr George Akuffo Dampare is set to take over as new Inspector General of Police.
He takes over from Mr. James Oppong Buanoh who has been asked to proceed on leave till his tenure expires in October.
The new IGP will assume office on 1st August, 2021.
Prior to his appointment, COP Dr. Dampare served as the Director General in charge of Administration at the Service and was instrumental in apprehending the alleged killer of former Abuakwa North MP, J.B. Danquah.
The new IGP has also served in several capacities within the Service including as Director General (Finance), Director General (Welfare), Director General (ICT), Commandant of the Police Command and Staff College, and Accra Region Police Commander.
